Fixed Wing r/c Qualified Instructor.

(Note, also previously an Achievement Scheme Club Examiner - Fixed Wing).

I have also completed the following BMFA tests:

Fixed Wing Power A test & the Fixed Wing Power B test.
Indoor Aerobatic A test & the Indoor Aerobatic B test.
Scale C test.

IMAC National's Advanced

F3A Masters

Flying Only Light Scale

I have flown in a variety of competitions; F3A, IMAC, Scale & Fun Fly, with good success. In the case of F3A & IMAC, I have used relatively simple electric 6S model of approximately 1500mm wingspan competing against far bigger (usually 2m models in F3A & 3m+ models in IMAC!) & more much expensive models. As well as various national events there have been some special highlights - for example:

2020
F3A
Won the first two competitions entered at Clubman level.
Won the National Championship at Intermediate level.

2021
F3A
Won the GBRCAA Championship at Masters Level.
Won the GBRCAA League at Masters (winning 7 competitions)

2022
F3A
Now flying in the top class with several 3rd places.
IMAC
Only one competition entered, placed 2nd at Intermediate level.
SCALE
Placed 3rd overall in my first Flying Only competition.
Won the Flying Only Light Scale at the National Championship.
Note: Withdrew from F3A competitions after a rule change prevented the use of Flight Coach during competions.

2023
IMAC
Won the Advanced class at the National Championship.
SCALE
Highest placed Flying Only Light Scale at the National Championship (& 3rd overall)

2024
IMAC
Placed 2nd in Advanced at the National Championships.
SCALE
Won the Flying only Light Scale at the National Championship.
Note: Withdrew from Scale Competitions after a proposed rule change designed to reduce the aerobatic manoeuvre options.
